We will now be using the loot system EPGP, it is a loot system different from DKP in the sense you don't bid on items by using points to buy items. It awards points for different things ( i will put a list up ) and it works on a loot priority system. Basically there are 2 kinds of points it awards :
EP = effort points, which are awarded for putting effort in to achieve guild goals, which for us is obviously mainly to do with raiding.
GP = gear points, which awarded every time you loot an item in a raid with the guild
The system then works out ( using a combination of EP & GP) who has the loot priority in the raid ( PR ) . So if a tanking item drops for example in a raid and we have 3 people in raid who would like the item, the raid leader will RW type
x for the item (main spec 1st then off spec ) and the player who wants the item will just type in raid chat x. The raid leader will then look at the EPGP PR rating of all the players interested and the player with the highest PR rating gets the loot.
A word of warning, this is a very fair system designed to award people who raid regular and do things to help the guild for which EP is awarded ( this improves your PR rating ) but also it helps to stop people rolling for items they don't really need because every time you get an item in a raid each item has an GP rating assigned so this will be added to your GP and this actually lowers your PR rating as you have had some gear so if you continually get loot you don't really need for main or off spec your PR rating will go down and your chances of getting that nice piece of loot later on that you REALLY need are less. So this way new people to the guild and those who don't roll on so much loot will get a better chance of acquiring the gear they want when it drops. Also the system is set to decay by 10% each day so i will manually do this every day and this basically gives new people the chance to get gear as people who been in the guild longer will not be able to 'horde' EP so if i decay it every day by 10% it will reset over a 10 day period from day 1 of the cycle.
The offers that come in from players for gear will be on the same basis as before i.e...Main spec 1st and off spec 2nd, but like i say be careful only to roll on gear you want as if you get too much loot for off spec for example it will effect your PR and when a nice piece of gear drops that you want for main spec your PR will probably be lower than the other person who wants it if he doesn't take so much loot.........so just be careful to consider what you do and don't really need.
Last off in this post is to be aware that everyone needs a minimum value of EP and GP to be able to bid and receive a PR rating for gear. As its a new system i started everyone in the guild on the same amount but bear in mind with each day that passes a 10% decay is in effect so you PR rating maybe too low but soon as you show to raids and earn more points it will go up again...so be aware that you will need to raid regular to earn EP to get your PR up.........
EP = EFFORT POINTS awarded to raiders for helping achieve guild goals ( will up your gear chances )
GP = GEAR POINTS awarded to raiders who receive gear in raids (will lower your further gear chances )
PR = PRIORITY RATING is a combination of EP & GP and is the rating used to decide who has priority over the loot being offered
ALL PLEASE GO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE FOLLOWING ADD ON

Just install it like a normal add on in add ons folder of WoW, you will then be able to keep track of your EPGP by just typing /epgp in chat
I will make another post after this one detailing the EP and GP points awarded for different things.
